Since inception, the Foundation has disbursed monies to students for leadership activities. FBLA-PBL members participate in a wide variety of leadership development activities and conferences on the local, state, and national levels. At conferences students attend leadership workshops and participate in competitive events.
The Maryland FBLA-PBL Foundation serves Maryland FBLA-PBL members by providing support for state winners to participate in national competition, scholarships, and leadership development programs, as well as supporting the annual State Leadership Conference. Leadership conference participation can cost each student over $1,000 depending upon location. Many schools are limited in conducting fundraising projects to support FBLA-PBL activities.
FOUNDATION OVERVIEW
Maryland Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is an organization for secondary (FBLA) and postsecondary (PBL) students enrolled in business classes or those interested in the field of business. FBLA-PBL members focus on serving schools and communities; developing competent, aggressive leadership skills; and promoting academic excellence. Maryland FBLA is comprised of over 3,500 students in over 50 schools statewide.
The Maryland FBLA-PBL Foundation, founded in 2012, is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization that generates and disburses funds to support the leadership development of Maryland business students in middle school, high school, and college. The Foundation awards scholarships to FBLA-PBL students to participate in national leadership programs and competitive events.
In 2018, when Maryland FBLA-PBL was the host state of the FBLA & PBL National Leadership Conference (held in Baltimore, MD), the Foundation sponsored every Maryland FBLA student to participate in the conference.
