Nick Santangelo
State President
Nick Santangelo, a senior at Marriotts Ridge High School, is proud to serve as your 2015-2016 Maryland FBLA State President. Joining as a freshman in 2012, Nick has continued to increase his involvement within the organization as he has moved from Chapter Vice-President during his sophomore year to Chapter President and Region 5 Vice-President during his junior year. He looks forward to leading another successful year in his local chapter as President and to strengthening the entirety of Maryland FBLA. He cannot wait to Connect with every member of the organization! |
Divya Kapoor
State Vice President
Divya Kapoor, a junior at Marriotts Ridge High School, is honored to serve as your 2015 – 2016 State Vice President. Within her first year in FBLA, she was awarded first place in Digital Design and Promotion at the State Leadership Conference and attended the National Leadership Conference. An exhilarating freshman year in FBLA opened her eyes to new experiences, intensified her passion for FBLA, and inspired her to run for a state officer position the following year. After two fantastic years in FBLA, Divya is excited to Connect, and lead Maryland FBLA to new successes! |
Benjamin Butenewicz
State Secretary-Treasurer
Benjamin Butenewicz, a senior at North East High School in Cecil County is honored to serve as Maryland FBLA’s state secretary-treasurer for the 2015-2016 school year. Benjamin started his journey with FBLA his sophomore year. All three years, Benjamin has served on his local chapter’s officer team as the liaison, secretary and upcoming president. So far in Benjamin’s two year span with FBLA, he has showed his skill by qualifying to nationals both years. At his first State Leadership Conference, he was a voting delegate. When he started talking to all the candidates, he knew he would become a state officer. Benjamin can’t wait to Connect with Maryland FBLA. |
Alexis Datta
State Reporter-Historian
Alexis Datta, an incoming senior at River Hill High School in Howard County, is proud to serve as your 2015-2016 Maryland State Reporter-Historian. Alexis joined FBLA in her freshmen year, and ran and received a position in her local chapter in her junior year. Her involvement in FBLA has since led her to recognize an interest in pursuing the business field as a career and to receive numerous accolades at the regional and state level. She is ready and excited to make a difference in Maryland FBLA! |
Jonathan Zhao
State Parliamentarian
Jonathan Zhao, a junior at River Hill High School in Howard County, is very excited to be serving as your 2015-2016 State Parliamentarian. His involvement with FBLA started in the freshman year, where he was first introduced to the many workshops, conferences, and opportunities FBLA offered. Since then, he has become a more active member, attending regional, state, and national conferences, as well as helping out his local chapter. When not working on FBLA, he enjoys swimming and participating in other various school clubs. Along with the rest of the officer team, Jonathan is ready to Connect and lead Maryland FBLA into another great year. |
Alexis Holland
Region 1 Vice President
A senior at Largo High School in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Alexis was first introduced to FBLA as a freshman. Since joining FBLA, her leadership skills have grown tremendously. Actively competing in every Regional and State Leadership Conference since, she won 2nd place in Public speaking 1 at the 2014 SLC and won 3rd place in Public Speaking 2 at the 2015 SLC. Alexis looks forward to orchestrating the Region 1 Leadership Conference for 2016. She is eager to work with the other State Officers to make the 2015-2016 year an amazing year for Maryland FBLA! |
Sophie Sun
Region 2 Vice President
Sophie Sun is a junior at Dulaney High School in Baltimore County and is thrilled to see what the 2015-2016 year will bring. She joined FBLA as a freshman when she learned that FBLA would be an integral part of her life forever because of the people, experiences, and connections that she took away from each conference. She hopes to convey the message that choice is significant: you choose whether or not you’re persistent. You choose whether or not you’re dedicated. You choose whether or not you’re confident. She is eager to connect with Maryland FBLA and to make this year’s FBLA a remarkable adventure! |
Annabell Midley
Region 3 Vice President
Annabell Midley, a junior at Worcester Technical High School, is honored to serve as your 2015-2016 Region 3 Vice President. She has been a member of FBLA ever since her sophomore year. Since then, she has been elected as her local chapter's vice president and has grown immensely in her leadership skills from when she first joined FBLA. Her freshman year, she won first at regionals and first at states in Client Services and won first in her region in Business Communication last year. Annabell is extremely excited to work with the Maryland FBLA officer team and make it an awesome year. |
Lakshna Chopra
Region 4 Vice President
Lakshna Chopra, a STEM senior at North County High School in Anne Arundel County, is proud to serve as your 2015 - 2016 Maryland FBLA Region 4 Vice President. Throughout her years in high school, Lakshna has been involved in multiple extra-curricular activities and served in numerous leadership positions. However, she realized that her true passion resided in FBLA, and after attending her first National Leadership Conference in 2014, she was inspired to get involved. She has served as Treasurer for her local chapter and looks forward to helping Region 4 and Maryland FBLA achieve greater heights this year! |
Robert Jett
Region 5 Vice President
Robert Jett, a senior at Mt. Hebron High School in Howard County, is amazed at the opportunity to serve as your Region 5 Vice President. Although he has only been in FBLA for one year, Robert has already seen the incredible effect this organization can have on creating competent and effective leaders. During the 2014-2015 FBLA season, he competed in Impromptu Speaking, placing in second at both the regional and state level. During his time as Region 5 Vice President, Robert hopes to both continue and further develop the high standards he has seen in Maryland FBLA. He is looking forward to a great 2015-2016 season! |
