Hannah Klein, a Senior at Chesapeake High school, is looking forward to serving her second term being your 2019-20 State President. When she joined FBLA her freshman year, Hannah developed a love and dedication for FBLA. She has attended both regional, state, and national conferences. Her love for people and leadership has helped her communicate with others and experience FBLA to its full potential. Along with her love for FBLA, Hannah also enjoys spending time with her friends, meeting new people, watching the TV show Survivor, and volunteering with animals. Hannah is grateful to be working with an amazing officer team this year and making Maryland FBLA the most beneficial to its members.​

andrei mapilisan
STATE REPORTER-HISTORIAN

Andrei Mapilisan, a senior at Eastern Technical High School in Baltimore County, is honored to serve as your 2019-20 State Reporter-Historian. Since joining, Andrei has found passion for getting involved with his chapter. Along with attending numerous leadership conferences on various levels and contributing to his chapter’s community service projects, he had the privilege of serving as the Chapter Historian during his Junior year. For the upcoming year, he will also be serving as Eastern Tech’s Chapter President. Since his time in FBLA, Andrei has been able to grow much more as an individual, learning highly valuable life and business-related skills. Outside of FBLA, Andrei enjoys spending his free time exploring new activities and extra-curriculars, such as photo/videography, culinary, coding/programming, engineering-related activities, track and field and much more. By being elected, he intends to effectively contribute to the organization, create a memorable, enjoyable and beneficial experience for all members, as well as set a precedent for future leaders of Maryland FBLA!​

sangmin woo
REGION 2 VICE PRESIDENT

Sangmin Woo, a senior at Dulaney High School in Baltimore County, is eager to serve as your 2019-20 Region 2 Vice President. Since joining as a sophomore, Sangmin has been able to enjoy the numerous opportunities presented to him by FBLA. Prior to his election to state office, Sangmin served as his local chapter's reporter. From competing in Advertising at the local, state, and national level to building relationships with new faces, he is extremely excited to represent Maryland FBLA and embody the core values of the organization as one of your officers this coming year. Aside from FBLA, Sangmin is an avid NBA fanatic, ardent dog lover, and terrible ice skater. Above all else, he is honored to work with a fantastic team, give back to the community, and build upon the great legacy of Maryland FBLA.

Mehul Sreenivas, a junior at Reservoir High School in Howard County, is delighted to serve as your 2019-20 State Vice President of Data Integration. Since switching to FBLA, Mehul has enjoyed the immense opportunities that the organization has to offer. Joining FBLA and becoming a state officer has allowed him to connect with more people than ever in the organization. He hopes to be able to help members be the best version of themselves and motivate them to start their journey. Outside of FBLA, Mehul enjoys playing baseball and Watching football, basketball, and baseball. Mehul cannot wait to help make this year the best for FBLA!

STATE VICE PRESIDENT

Kathy Yao, a junior at Dulaney High School in Baltimore County, is ecstatic to serve as your 2019-20 State Vice President. When she joined FBLA in her freshman year, she became involved very quickly. Since then, she has only grown a deeper and greater appreciation for this organization. Kathy has been able to experience the countless opportunities that FBLA offers including the regional, state, and national conferences. Over the next year, she hopes to be able to continue to share her passion and knowledge with the members, inspiring everyone to take opportunities and challenge themselves. Outside of FBLA, Kathy is a tennis player, enjoys traveling, and likes playing the violin. Kathy is ready to work alongside the State Officer Team to make this a truly successful year for Maryland FBLA!​

Annika Pierre Michel, a senior at Dr. Henry A Wise Jr. High School, is honored to serve you as the 2019-20 State Parliamentarian. She joined FBLA in her sophomore year. FBLA has helped her to grow in numerous ways and she hopes to be able to share her passion and encourage members to achieve their goals. In her spare time, Annika enjoys crochet, playing tennis, and piano. She is extremely excited for what the future brings this year with the help of your State Officer Team and your Board of Directors.

REGION 3 VICE PRESIDENT

Colin Hanson, a sophomore from Century High School in Carroll County, is hyped to serve as your 2019-20 Region 3 Vice President. Colin joined FBLA his freshman year and decided to step up and serve as a chapter officer. He then decided that he wanted to step up and applied to serve as a state officer. He was appointed as Region 3 Vice President and placed 9th in Global Business his freshman year. Colin looks forward to improving MDFBLA’s social media and hosting his regional conference. In his spare time Colin likes to watch basketball and hang out with his friends and his dog, Archie. Colin loves his state officer team and is ready to be the best Region 3 VP yet.

Tamas Mester, a Junior at Reservoir High School in Howard County, is eager to serve as your 2019-2020 Vice President of Data Analytics. Since freshman year he was an avid CTSO member placing at both regional and state competitions. Encouraged by his adviser, he undertook a leadership role in his local chapter which grew his passion for business and leadership. Throughout his time in CTSOs he gained a lot in experience and knowledge and wants to give that same experience to prospective members. Tamas is eager to be part of FBLA and contribute his unique perspective and ideas into further developing and leading FBLA at the regional, state, and national level. Other interests of Tamas are soccer and music. Alongside the FBLA officer team, Tamas is excited to make this year a great one!

​Tiffany Bixler, a senior at North County High School in Anne Arundel County, is exhilarated to be serving as your 2019-20 State Secretary-Treasurer. Tiffany became a member of FBLA her sophomore year and was surprised at the many opportunities available to her through the FBLA organization. She quickly cultivated a great love for FBLA and hopes to inspire others to do the same. More than anything, Tiffany wants to give back to the organization that has been the highlight of her high school career. In her free time, she enjoys making music, volunteering, and reading. Tiffany is grateful for the opportunity to work with the talented State Officer team and is looking forward to another amazing year of Maryland FBLA!

REGION 1 VICE PRESIDENT

Symone Wright, a senior at Dr. Henry A Wise Jr. High School in Prince George County, is ecstatic about serving as the 2019-20 Region 1 Vice President. Symone joined FBLA in her freshman year and participated in varies conference and helping inside of her chapter. She then decided that she wanted to do more and run for state office. She placed 2nd in Management Decision Making at regional and 7th at the state leadership conference. She wants to inspiring other young people to help achieve their dream and embrace who they are. In spare time Symone cooks in hope of starting her own restaurant and eventually starting a restaurant chain. Symone is proud to be in the making of another successful year for Maryland FBLA.

REGION 4 VICE PRESIDENT

Alexis Castillo, a senior at North County High School in Anne Arundel County, is thrilled to serve as your Region 4 Vice President. Her journey in FBLA began her sophomore year, where she immediately fell in love with the organization. She is so thankful that FBLA has allowed her to grow as an individual and network throughout the country. Alexis hopes to inspire members and help them live their meaningful legacy. Along with her passion for FBLA, Alexis plays in multiple performing ensembles, loves calligraphy, and enjoys spending time with her friends. She is so joyous to be working with an amazing state officer team to bring you a world of opportunity this year.

SINCE 1957
Maryland FBLA was established in April 1957, with the first chartered chapter at Forest Park High School in Baltimore. There are five administrative regions in Maryland FBLA, each headed by a Regional Vice President. In January, each region hold a competitions to decide the members eligible to compete at the State Leadership Conference in the spring. Members placing first, second, third, or fourth in their competitive event at the SLC are eligible to compete at the National Leadership Conference hosted by National FBLA-PBL.
