Kathy Yao

Kathy Yao, a senior at Dulaney High School in Baltimore County, is so excited to serve as your 2020-21 State President during her third and last year as a state officer. When she joined FBLA in her freshman year of high school, she became involved very quickly, allowing her to grow a deeper appreciation for this organization. Kathy has been able to experience the countless opportunities that FBLA offers including the Region, State, and National conferences. Over the next year, she wants to be able to continue to share her passion and knowledge with the members, inspiring everyone to take opportunities and challenge themselves. Kathy hopes to work alongside the State Officer Team to make this upcoming year an enjoyable and memorable experience for all the members within Maryland FBLA!

Sanket Vaja

STATE REPORTER-HISTORIAN

Sanket Vaja, a senior at River Hill High school in Howard County, is excited to serve as your 2020-2021 State Reporter-Historian. After placing 1st in Digital Video Production at SLC and 1st in Digital Photography at NLC, Sanket felt prepared to take on the responsibilities that would come with serving in this capacity. During his junior year, Sanket had the opportunity to serve as his chapter’s Vice President of Public Relations. This year he’s excited to apply his skills in photography, film-making, and social media management to the efforts of Maryland FBLA and provide the best experience for every member. Along with his passion for business and marketing, Sanket enjoys taking pictures with friends and capturing new memories along the way. Sanket intends to grow Maryland FBLA to be the best state organization it can be and he’s ready to build a new digital legacy.

REGION 2 VICE PRESIDENT

Neha Mupparapu, a senior at Eastern Technical High School in Baltimore County, has been a member since her freshman year. She did not know much about this organization, but after attending her first SLC she knew she wanted to make an impact and has gained a passion ever since! She wants to help more schools learn about this organization as well as share her passion! This upcoming year, Neha will also serve as her Chapter President and is so grateful for being apart of such an amazing organization! Besides FBLA she loves to cook, travel and spend time with her friends and family!

Luis Meza

STATE VICE PRESIDENT

Luis Meza, a senior at Annapolis High School in Anne Arundel County, is honored to serve as your 2020-21 State Vice President. When he joined FBLA his freshman year, Luis developed a love and admiration for FBLA, and wanted to help starting out at his local chapter as a two-term Secretary. He has attended and competed at the Region, State, and National conferences. His love and admiration for FBLA will help him develop his leadership skills as well as aid him along his journey of being a state officer. Outside of FBLA, Luis is competing in SkillsUSA (Culinary Arts), spending time with friends and family and working at his local Chick-fil-A. Luis is honored and ready to work with the amazingly talented State Officer Team, and ready to make this year the most successful year for MDFBLA yet!

STATE PARLIAMENTARIAN

Daniela Pena, a junior at South River High School in Anne Arundel County, is proud to be serving Maryland FBLA along with her peers, colleagues, and the state officer team. She cannot believe that in a short year she has already come to love and enjoy FBLA so much. Through FBLA and a dedicated local chapter advisor, she has made great friends, wonderful memories, and big accomplishments. She aims to return the favor by ensuring all present and future members of FBLA are able to experience all that FBLA has to offer. Daniela enjoys exploring the world, whether it be through travel, people’s stories, or literary means. She loves painting, playing music and writing among other things. She promises to work hard and be passionate about everything she does for FBLA from the smallest task to the largest endeavor. She hopes that success is in her veins or at very least good luck.

REGION 3 VICE PRESIDENT

Lucille Kopin, a senior at South River High School in Anne Arundel County, is honored to serve as your Region 3 Vice President. Her journey in FBLA began her junior year, where she immediately fell in love with the organization and helped start a chapter at her school. Her favorite part of FBLA is being able to connect with so many different people from different places. She looks forward to hosting a Region Leadership Conference and helping with the State Leadership Conference. Outside of FBLA, Lucille is a Team Leader at Chick-Fil-A and loves watching the Washington Capitals play hockey. Lucille is thrilled to be working with such an amazing State Officer Team and looks forward to another great year of FBLA!

Sophia Reed
region 5 Vice President

Sophia Reed, a senior at Howard High School in Howard County, is delighted to serve as your Region 5 Vice President. She joined FBLA as a freshmen, and since then has served her local chapter as an active member on the board. She has taken advantage of the many opportunities that FBLA has provided, such as attending conferences, fundraising, and networking. In her spare time, Sophia enjoys baking, reading, and obsessing over her fountain pen collection. She hopes to bring the chapters in her region together and improve fundraising efforts. She’s looking forward to a productive year and leaving a legacy in the FBLA organization.

STATE SECRETARY-TREASURER

Vinay Khosla, a senior at Dulaney High School in Baltimore County, is thrilled to serve as your 2020-21 State Secretary-Treasurer. After joining FBLA in his freshman year, Vinay was quickly enamored with the wide variety of opportunities offered on the local, state, and national levels. Vinay’s love and dedication to this organization only grew after attending the NLC in San Antonio; seeing the amazing student leaders inspired him to run for state office this year and give back to the organization which has given him so much. Outside of FBLA, Vinay enjoys running on his cross country and track teams, participating in student government, and volunteering in his community. Vinay is ready and excited to work diligently to make this the best year for Maryland FBLA yet.

REGION 1 VICE PRESIDENT

Sarah Foerster, a senior at Manchester Valley High School in Carroll County, is elated to serve as your 2020-2021 Region 1 Vice President. Sarah joined FBLA in her sophomore year and became a very active member in her chapter. She served as the Secretary for Manchester Valley's chapter before running for a state officer position. Her first year as a member she placed 3rd at 2019 SLC for Introduction to Business Communication and attended the NLC that same year. She hopes to help guide newer members on a path to success during her time as a state officer. She is looking forward to a great RLC and a memorable SLC. Sarah is enrolled as a student in the Academy of Finance program and wants to dual major in accounting and finance at college. Sarah not only loves FBLA, but she enjoys singing and acting in her school's theater productions, Also, she is a member of the Carroll County Children's Chorus and her school choir. Sarah enjoys listening to country music, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her older sister. She is looking forward to a fantastic year serving all members of Maryland FBLA and making everyone exited for a great year!

Aamaly Hossain

REGION 4 VICE PRESIDENT

Aamaly Hossain, a sophomore at Northern High School in Calvert County, is honored to serve as your 2020-21 Region 4 Vice President. Aamaly became a member of FBLA middle level in 8th grade where she was the Treasurer at Northern Middle School. From there Aamaly was intrigued by the countless opportunities and amazing experiences she gained from FBLA in middle school and again in high school. After attending Region, State, and National conferences, Aamaly fell in love with FBLA. She received numerous awards for her hard work and dedication put towards this organization. In her free time, Aamaly loves spending time with her family and friends, learning new things, meeting new people, and watching movies. Aamaly never thought that she could have come this far but, “if you believe it, you CAN achieve it.” While serving Maryland FBLA, Aamaly is thrilled to work alongside an extremely talented State Officer team!

SINCE 1957
Maryland FBLA was established in April 1957, with the first chartered chapter at Forest Park High School in Baltimore. There are five administrative regions in Maryland FBLA, each headed by a Regional Vice President. In January, each region hold a competitions to decide the members eligible to compete at the State Leadership Conference in the spring. Members placing first, second, third, or fourth in their competitive event at the SLC are eligible to compete at the National Leadership Conference hosted by National FBLA-PBL.
