Caroline Finn

State President 

Caroline Finn, a senior at South River High School in Anne Arundel County, is honored to be your 2022-2023 State President. After joining her schools’ FBLA chapter as a Freshman, she immediately felt at home in the dynamic and creative environment of FBLA, and looks forward to utilizing the leadership skills she has developed through her participation in FBLA throughout her term. Be it a regional, state, or national conference, FBLA never ceases to impress, and Caroline is truly thrilled to contribute to that same caliber of excellence. The past few years have proved that the future is uncertain. However Caroline is confident that with determination, proactivity, and teamwork, this next year in FBLA will be a spectacular one.

Aaron Ren

State Reporter-

Historian 

Aaron Ren, a Senior at Dulaney High School in Baltimore County, is thrilled to serve as your 2022-23 State Reporter-Historian. After joining FBLA in his freshman year, he became quickly involved, by being introduced to the wide variety of opportunities offered on the local, state, and national levels. Witnessing the amazing student leaders all around FBLA encouraged him to run for office and serve the FBLA members within Maryland. Outside of FBLA, Aaron enjoys playing tennis, photography, and volunteering in his community. Aaron hopes to work alongside the State Officer Team to make this upcoming year an enjoyable and memorable experience for all the members within Maryland FBLA. He is ready and excited to work diligently to make this the best year for Maryland FBLA yet.

Nidhi Patel

Region 2 Vice President

Nidhi Patel, a senior at Eastern Technical High School in Baltimore County, is elated to serve as your 2022-2023 Region 2 Vice President. After joining FBLA her freshman year, Nidhi immediately knew FBLA would become an integral part of her high school years, bringing her new opportunities, challenges, and connections. This year, as her local chapter’s Vice President and the 2022-2023 Region 2 Vice President, Nidhi is eager to bridge the recent year’s participation & events gap and recharge the image of Maryland FBLA for new and returning members. She looks forward to doing the same with members at this year’s conferences and working hard with this year’s state officer team to provide members with the best FBLA experience possible.

State Vice President

Laura Zhang, a senior at River Hill High School, is excited to serve as your 2022-23 State Vice President. Laura joined FBLA as a freshman, hoping to learn more about the business world and meet new people. Since then, she has had the opportunity to attend conferences, earn rewards, and serve on the local and state level. From the three years she has been involved in FBLA, Laura has developed a passion for FBLA and for serving its members. She hopes to provide more opportunities for students to succeed on the local, state, and national level. Aside from FBLA. Laura enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family. She looks forward to working with the incredible State Officer Team to make FBLA even greater this year.

Sarah Hurley

State Parliamentarian 

Sarah Hurley, a Junior at Northern High School in Calvert County, is honored to serve as your 2022-2023 State Parliamentarian. She became a part of this organization in seventh grade in her Northern Middle School chapter. She quickly became engaged in FBLA through the countless business and competitive opportunities the organization had to offer. Sarah continued being an active member in FBLA into high school, eventually having the chance to participate in the NLC two years in a row. Outside of FBLA. Sarah enjoys baking, camping, hiking, art, music, and her cats. Sarah is more than thrilled to serve Maryland FBLA this year. She is honored to have the opportunity to continue to light this spark that FBLA has struck in her.

Region 3 Vice President

Katie Boetig, a senior at South River High School in Anne Arundel County, is excited to serve as your 2022-2023 Region 3 Vice President. Katie joined FBLA her freshman year of high school and has been an avid member ever since, captivated by the positive experiences that FBLA can bring. Whether it be a workshop, guest speaker, competitive event or conference, the opportunities to become more involved are endless. Outside from school and FBLA, Katie enjoys playing tennis and spending time with friends. Katie is eager to expand her network of FBLA members throughout the state and provide the best opportunities for the years of FBLA to come. ​

Region 5 Vice President

David Liu, a senior at Glenelg High School in Howard County, is proud to serve as your 2022-2023 Region 5 Vice President. David joined FBLA as a freshman, excited to become involved in his school’s community of like-minded students pursuing experience in the business world. He immediately grew attached to FBLA as an organization, attending conferences of all levels and serving as his chapter’s President for the third year now. Appreciating the amazing FBLA community around him, David ran for state office and is absolutely honored to represent Maryland FBLA members. Outside of FBLA and school, David is passionate about debating, beekeeping, and playing football. David is absolutely thrilled to begin working with his fellow State Officer Team to provide members with the best experience possible.

Noah Duncan

Treasurer

Noah Duncan, a senior from Eastern Technical High School in Baltimore County, is honored to be your next MDFBLA Secretary-Treasurer. Joining FBLA in his freshman year, he had no idea the journey it would take him- so far he’s been a three-time chapter officer, attended and planned regional, state, and national conferences, and is now a two-time state officer! This year, he is tasked with organizing the state Financial Literacy Challenge to encourage MDFBLA members to be more financially literate. Apart from school, he loves hiking and playing the guitar. Noah feels incredibly lucky and grateful to have had this opportunity to help lead such an amazing organization, and can’t wait to see what MDFBLA goes on to accomplish!

Region 1 Vice President

Sophia Yang, a sophomore at Urbana High School in Frederick County, is excited to serve as your 2022-2023 Region 1 Vice President. When she first joined FBLA, she was delighted by both the vast variety of fascinating topics to pursue, and the amount of opportunities that came with competing at the SLC and NLC. She has found a home in FBLA through her incredibly supportive fellow members and advisers, and hopes to reach out to others in her region to find and engage in FBLA, so they too feel the sense of community she does. Sophia will be sure to work hard this year, and make a lasting impact on as many young business leaders as she can.

Olivia Herrin

Region 4 Vice President

Olivia Herrin, a sophomore at Northern High School in Calvert County, is excited to serve as your 2022-2023 Region 4 Vice President.  After joining FBLA in sixth grade, she developed a passion for the organization and the opportunities it provides for members.  As she entered high school, she continued to stay involved and loved the community she found within her new chapter.  This year, Olivia hopes to strengthen the connection between local and state FBLA through keeping all members informed and involved.   Aside from FBLA, Olivia enjoys her family and faith, hanging out with friends, reading, and getting involved within her school.  As state officer, Olivia promises to stay passionate, work hard, and listen to others.

SINCE 1957
Maryland FBLA was established in April 1957, with the first chartered chapter at Forest Park High School in Baltimore. There are five administrative regions in Maryland FBLA, each headed by a Regional Vice President. In January, each region hold a competitions to decide the members eligible to compete at the State Leadership Conference in the spring. Members placing first, second, third, or fourth in their competitive event at the SLC are eligible to compete at the National Leadership Conference hosted by National FBLA-PBL.
