State Leadership Conference Eligibility
For objective test only events, the top 5 winners for each region are eligible to compete at the 2022 State Leadership Conference. If 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th place from regionals cannot attend the SLC, 6th place or below are NOT eligible to compete at the SLC.
For events with an objective test and a performance component, the top 5 winners for each region are eligible to compete at the 2022 State Leadership Conference. If 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th place from regionals cannot attend the SLC, 6th place or below are NOT eligible to compete at the SLC.

The 2022 Regional Leadership Conference is virtual. Please see below for additional details and documents related to competitive events.
Registration for all regional conference competitive events must be completed using the Blue Panda online registration system.
If you have any trouble logging into Blue Panda, please e-mail the system directly at [email protected] for log-in assistance. There is also a self-service “forgot user name/password” feature on the Blue Panda registration website as well.
IMPORTANT: The Blue Panda system is tied directly to National FBLA’s dues database. If National FBLA has not received dues for your students, you will NOT be able to register your student(s) for competitive events at the regional conference.

MD FBLA Live Video Performance Event Date/Time/Information Details
1: Friday, December 17, 2021 – competitive event appointment times by event from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (see attachment by event) - Students should log in to Zoom no more than 5 minutes before their assigned time.
1a: Client Service Event Details:
* 10-minute prep and 5-minute role play performance (review the state/national guidelines & rating sheet)
* Students will be provided the case study prompt and 10 minutes to prepare in a private zoom breakout room with a proctor before being brought into a breakout room with the judges for the role-play presentation.
* Students should be prepared with either two 4x6 note cards or cut a sheet of paper into two 4x6 pieces for taking your performance prep notes.
1b: Impromptu Speaking Event Details:
* 10-minute speech prep and 4-minute speaking performance (review the state/national guidelines & rating sheet).
* Students will be provided the speaking topic prompt and 10 minutes to prepare in a private zoom breakout room with a proctor before being brought into a breakout room with the judges for the speech.
* Students should be prepared with either two 4x6 note cards or cut a sheet of paper into two 4x6 pieces for taking your performance prep notes.
1c: Job Interview Event Details:
* 10-minute interview with a panel of judges in a Zoom breakout room (review the state/national guidelines & rating sheet).
* The letter of application and resume that were previously submitted have been judged separately (12/3/21 deadline).
* Only students that submitted a letter of application and resume by the 12/3/21 deadline will be interviewed.
1d: Sales Presentation Event Details:
* 7-minute interactive role play performance with a panel of judges in a Zoom breakout room (review the state/national guidelines & rating sheet).
* Students should be prepared in advance of entering the breakout room for your performance with the complete set-up of any equipment and/or event presentation materials. There will NOT be a 5-minute set-up time with the judges. If a team of two or three, all members must participate in the Zoom meeting on-screen.
2: Other Important Information:
All event dates and times are set for each event entry as noted in the corresponding attachments, and no changes are permitted.
